The number of restaurants operating in South Korea has increased by almost 50 percent since 2000, with even the COVID-19 pandemic not being able to slow down the growth. With a dining out rate of over 82 percent, restaurants and other foodservice establishments in the country have a large customer base to draw from. Additionally, a 2024 survey found that partaking in South Korea’s food culture was one of the biggest reasons for international visitors to travel to the country that year.
