Despite being best known for soft drinks, it's food that is the best performing segment for PepsiCo. Still, it ranks among the leading soft drink brands worldwide, with a brand value of almost 18 billion U.S. dollars in 2024.

The company

The company comprises six different divisions: Frito-Lay North America (FLNA), Quaker Foods North America (QFNA), Latin America, North America Beverages (NAB), Europe Sub-Saharan Africa (ESSA) and Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMENA). According to PepsiCo’s most recent annual report, the company generated net revenue of around 92 billion U.S. dollars worldwide in 2024. In the same year, the company recorded almost ten billion dollars in net income.

Food

In 2024, Frito-Lay alone generated around 25 billion U.S. dollars in revenue, accounting for about one quarter of PepsicCo's total revenue worldwide. In this segment, brands such as Lay's or Doritos are competing against other snack food products.

Beverage

In terms of the company's divisions, it's still Pepsico Beverages North America that generates the most revenue, despite food divisions creating more in total. Pepsi has been slowly losing market share in the carbonated soft drink category for years, standing at eight percent in 2024. In the beverage segment, PepsiCo's main challenger has always been Coca-Cola. As a brand, Coca-Cola had a value of over five times that of Pepsi.
