The total number of Canadian Home Depot stores reached 182 by 2024, of which 88 were in Ontario. In comparison, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland each had only one Home Depot store. Canadian Tire is another major player in the Canadian home improvement market, with 671 stores operating in 2024. In the same year, Canadian Tire generated a revenue of 8.5 billion Canadian dollars.
Local brands and retail chains generally dominate the Canadian home improvement sector, and the entire DIY retailing market is expected to generate a revenue of over 50 billion U.S. dollars by 2029.
