In 2025, around ** percent of worldwide merchants with online presence reported a surge in online payment fraud. In addition, around ** percent noted an increase in charge back, while ** percent indicated experiencing more account takeover (ATO) attacks. On the other hand, around ** percent of merchants reported a decrease in refund abuse.
