Sun care market in Europe - statistics & facts
As awareness of the risk of sun exposure increases, the sun care market continues to boom. Sun protection skin care has become an essential part of skincare and self-care routines, and its global revenue is expected to reach a value of about 13.2 billion U.S. dollars by the year 2027. The sun care category comprises different product types, including self-tanning lotions, after-sun treatments, and sun protection, the latter being amongst the most popular: as for Europe, the revenue growth of this category was measured at approximately 6.2 percent in 2022, and forecasts show that these figures will not slow down anytime soon. While the United States rules the sun protection skincare market, Italy is the leading European country in the market, with a revenue adding up to nearly 466 million U.S. dollars, France and the United Kingdom followed each with a value of around 400 million U.S. dollars.
